[REVIEW] BENTON Shea Butter and Coconut Body Lotion

BENTON Story

‘Benton’ is inspired by and named after the movie ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ in which Benjamin Button grows younger with time. In the movie, Benjamin has no choice but to leave his love, Daisy, as he becomes younger. If Daisy could also turn back time of her physical appearance, wouldn’t she be happier? It may just be a fictional movie, but wouldn’t most people have the same desire to be young again? Benton desires to restore your skin back to its original healthy condition with healthy recipes, rather than to give temporary effects with harmful ingredients. Also, Benton presents freshly made products by sticking to small batch production.

BENTON Shea Butter and Coconut Body Lotion 

- Shea Butter and Coconut Body Lotion contains Ecocert certified Shea Butter, USDA certified Coconut Oil, and 5-Hyaluronic Acid Complex which allow excellent moisturization with a smooth and moist texture. 

- The body lotion has the natural scent of skin protecting Coconut oil, reducing burden on the skin as it does not contain artificial fragrance. Shea Butter prevents drying of skin by forming a moist layer. Moisturize and care for your whole family’s skin with the body lotion. 

- Hyaluronic Acid Complex of 5 different molecular weights protect your skin step by step, by attracting moisture and caring for your skin. 

- Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Water, Jojoba Seed Oil and Ceramide NP soothe rough skin and help maintain oil-water balance. The body lotion helps strengthen the natural energy of the skin and keeps skin soft and smooth. 

- Free of artificial fragrance, silicon oil and PEG surfactants. It is made up of naturally derived ingredients, has a soft and moist texture. It is a great product to apply to a wide area with a small amount. 

- The body lotion can be used both for face and body as it is made up of ingredients that are used in products for the face. It helps your whole family achieve healthy skin regardless of age or gender. 

- It is dermatologically tested and free of irritations, artificial fragrance, coloring, silicon oil and other harmful ingredients. It contains healthy ingredients for you to use without concerns.

The packaging is quite bulky since it has 250ml of products inside.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients: Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, 5-Hyaluronic Acid Complex

- Shea Butter: Shea Butter is a vegetable fat extracted from the nut of shea trees. It moisturizes rough skin, locking moisture in. It is also known as the secret of the beautiful Cleopatra’s glowing skin.

- Coconut Oil: Extracted from the kernel of coconuts, the oil prevents moisture from escaping, allowing dry skin to become smooth.

- 5-Hyaluronic Acid Complex: 5 types of Hyaluronic Acid with different molecular sizes protect and moisturize your skin step by step.

• Sodium Hyaluronate (High molecule) – Maintains an outer moisture layer on the skin and helps moisturize
• Sodium Hyaluronate (Middle Molecule) – Helps maintain skin’s suppleness
• Sodium Hyaluronate (Low Molecule) – Hydrates fibers in the skin
• Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate – Helps hydrate damaged skin
• Hyaluronic Acid – Polysaccharides protect skin from the infiltration of harmful external stressors

*Cetearyl Alcohol has ‘alcohol’ in its name, but it is different from volatile ethanol or methanol. Derived from plants, Cetearyl Alcohol functions as an emulsion stabilizer and stores moisture. It is a stable emulsifying ingredient that smoothens and moisturizes skin.

Recommended for the Following Skin Types

• Rough and sensitized skin
• Skin with poor oil-water balance (like mine!)
• Dry and sensitive skin with itchiness
• Skin that needs instant hydration and vitalization
• Skin that needs a moist product without tackiness (I hate tackiness😩)
• Skin that prefers a mild natural scent over artificial fragrance

How to Use

1) Dry yourself after a shower and apply the product to skin. It may be used on the body and face.

2) Rather than completely drying yourself after a shower, it is recommended to start your skincare quickly while the skin is still moist as the skin loses moisture rapidly after taking a shower.

Review

This Shea Butter and Coconut Body Lotion from Benton is my very first body lotion from Korean brand. Benton just launched this highly moisturizing body lotion from the same line as Shea Butter and Coconut Hand Cream. I personally never gave it a try, but luckily I received the sample among with the package of this body lotion. I like it as well!

They also gave me the Tea Tree Cleansing Water samples.

It has a natural Coconut scent since it doesn't contain any artificial fragrance. I personally like a product more when it doesn't have too much fragrance or none at all, since I have a quite easily sensitized skin. 

I also like the fact that this is an all in one body lotion which can be used for the face and body, regardless of gender or age. As I mentioned before, it's quite bulky but don't worry the whole family could also use this. 

The Period After Opening (PAO) is 6 months due to its natural ingredients.

It has a lightweight texture and a little bit slimmy with a white color. I'll show you the texture by a picture below.

I have tried using this body lotion in two ways. First, I applied on my dry skin. It absorbed pretty well though it seems like hard to blend at the first time.  

I also tried applying on a damp skin and it absorbed pretty quick as well.

I can say I've been addicted to this body lotion since the first day I received it. I use this every night after shower to keep my skin moisturized since I sleep in a room with air conditioner as it tends to dry out my skin. This really has no tackiness and so comfortable to use. It's like you are applying hyaluronic acid onto your whole body. And the fact I wake up with a plump and hydrated skin every morning makes me love this body lotion very much. 

Maybe you can't see the different due to a bad lighting and condition on my photo above. But I can say the 'after' looks a little bit shiny in real life. 

After all, I'll keep continue using this and I don't mind to repurchase. I wish all of Benton products would be officially available soon in Indonesia.
