REVIEW | Botanic Farm Grain Ferment Cleansing Sherbet

Hi, everyone!

This Wednesday I'm back with another review.

Today I'll be talking about my newest oil-based cleanser, it's Botanic Farm Grain Ferment Cleansing Sherbet. Yea, I know, it's not a new product in Kbeauty, but I just got the chance to try it now after spending 8 months on Heimish All Clean Balm.

Botanic Farm

"In 2010, Emily Cosmetic developed Botanic Farm – a line of natural cosmetics that go in line with an ecological philosophy. The cosmetics company worked closely with South Korea’s largest OEM skincare factory – Kolmar – in developing the series. The process took over 4 years and in 2014, Botanic Farm – Emily Cosmetic signature series was released to the market and received high praise. Emily Cosmetic will carry on with its research and development towards producing more skincare products that will benefit all."

Grain Ferment Cleansing Sherbet

"This smooth sherbet cream makeup remover is made from three types of naturally beneficial grans: Rice, Rice Bran, and Soybean. With just a small amount, the lightly-scented balm removes layers of foundation, blush, eye makeup, and other impurities on the surface of the face."
Size
100ml

Packaging
I'm glad that it's not bulky despite of the weight. It's sleek and simple with brown color. It also includes a spatula for a hygiene in application.

Ingredients
Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisotearate, Polyethylene, PEG-10 Isotearate, Rice Ferment Filtrate (Sake) (79.2ppm), Saccharomyces/Rice Bran Ferment (79.2ppm), Lactobacillus/Soybean Ferment Extract (79.2ppm), Trihydroxystearin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Butylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance (Parfum)

It has Sake (rice ferment), Rice Bran ferment and Soybean ferment extract as the main ingredients. Please be caution for you who's allergic to fermented ingredients or often suffers from Malassezia Folliculitis (MF) as known as Fungal Acne.

Texture
It's quite firm, but it will melt immediately when touches with the skin. The texture itself is lighter than other cleansing balm I've ever tried, maybe that's why it's called 'sherbet'. It also feels lightweight upon application.

Fragrance
I love the fragrance! You still can notice the smell, but it's not overwhelming or something that drunks you and makes you sick. For me it's more like a fruity scent, I think it smells like peaches LOL I'm sorry if it doesn't.

Experience

The fact that it melts quickly and feels so soft when I apply onto my skin, makes me enjoying the double cleansing routine more. It also emulsifies well when toucheswith water and leave my skin very smooth with no residue afterward. But I still continue cleansing with second cleanser.

I don't use any make up on my daily, only sunscreen and sometimes I use face powder. I can say it works well in removing oil and dirt, and it's so good to remove waterproof make up because sometimes I use mascara and forget to use with eye make-up remover.

I love this cleansing serbet from all sides, but sadly it breaks me out. :(

The past two weeks, I was having a bad break out on my forehead, cheeks and chin. I didn't suspect this cleansing sherbet at first, I thought it was hormonal, a result of stress or my another acne trigger. I tried using any calming and soothing products, without exfoliating my skin. I kept using this cleansing sherbet, and kept my skin hydrated and moisturized, but it didn't get any better.

Until five days ago, I suddenly thought about the time when I first got this breakout was several days after starting to use this cleanser.

I stopped using this and switched to use micellar water.

And my skin keeps getting better day by day. Shall I say that this cleanser caused my breakout? :(

Overall Thoughts

I love this cleanser. It works well on removing any make up and oil/dirt without leaving any residue. I also like the scent. Too bad it broke me out. Maybe my skin just doesn't work with fermented ingredients. I don't know, I still have to figure it out.
